The Curriculum

Person centred planning, Independence, functional skills, communication and personal and social development are at the core of our learning programmes. We offer highly individualised programmes in a range of areas including English and Maths, daily living skills, employability and leisure. Learners participate in a range of enrichment activities, community trips and visits.

Learners are offered a three-year placement at the college and study one of our five pathways

  • Independence 1
  • Independence 2
  • Preparing for work
  • Ready for work
  • Supported internship

For each learner the application process includes an individual assessment conducted by a senior leader and members of the therapy team. On entry to the college a baseline assessment is undertaken and from this the learners’ programme of study is constructed in relation to the outcomes identified in their individual EHCPs.

The curriculum offer is described in the attached document.
